For some time I have been considering making the leap from 35mm to Medium Format. Everything I read seemed to suggest this was a right move for my photography to take - I only ever use prime lenses, usually use manual focus, love working with minimal depth of field and always strive for the best image quality.

Re-fitting the studio

Finally finished re-fitting my studio so that it is now custom-designed and set up for photographing artwork. This has been an ongoing project over the past couple of months and I will continue to modify and adapt as each assignment requires but for now, it is working really well.

I can't believe that my one year AA2A residency has ended - I have thoroughly enjoyed this experience and learned a great deal from it. The work I am producing now is so far from where I started out that it is hard to see how that transpired during such a short space of time but it has been a pretty intense experience.

Photographing prints

A recent assignment involved photographing a series of original collagraph prints for printmaking artist Theresa Taylor. Her prints are quite delicate yet have a textured surface, so it was important to try and capture the intracacies and retain the correct colours to do them justice.
